After almost two years of building a community, we are ready to host our first online meet up. Our online Link Up is scheduled for Tuesday, August 24 at 5pm EST/ 6PM EDT.

We will discuss what it is and how it can build your team's resilience. But here's a little teaser to whet your appetites, ahead of the event. 

About Cross-Functional Teams

High performing, or simply great teams, are built on purpose. It is not by luck or happenstance - but deliberate and purposeful action. 

One approach to building a strong team culture is to focus on cross-functionality within your teams, by encouraging them to be "T-shaped". This is where they have broad general knowledge in the primary subject (or related) area that they work in, but make their greatest impact on the team, using their deeper, more concentrated knowledge as a specialist. 

For example, if you are working in Marketing, you should have a general understanding of most areas in the profession, but you are an expert in a specific area such as Digital Marketing or Graphic Designing. 

If you work on a team, you should always be asking the following pertinent questions:

• Do you have all the skills you need to get your work done?
• What if a team member decides to leave, would it disrupt your team's ability to continue working?
